Prayer for the 5th Sunday in

Great Lent

Thou Who art the support of all them that fall, and the restoration of the shattered, O Christ our God,

Who camest down without leaving the Father's side, and wast incarnate of the Holy Virgin Mary, coming into the world so as to bestow Thy care on our fallen nature that was cast to thieves, and fearfully corrupted and wounded by them,

that Thou mightest restore us to our homeland of old: Thyself, O Master, heal our unseen sores, and bind the wounds of our soul, by Thy Precious Blood which Thou didst shed for us, and Thy Holy Chrism which Thou hast bestowed upon us;

and deliver us from the blows that strike us incessantly, from invisible enemies striving to snatch away from us faith and hope in Thee, and to deprive us of Thy Grace.

Take not Thy merciful love from us, and Thy salutory healing:

that, being made whole, and cleansed from every stain, we may be found worthy of the calling of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven.

For Thou art the Healer of ills both unseen and manifest, and that doest battle for the Orthodox Christians.

For Thou art our God, and to Thee do we send up glory: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages.

Amen.
