Our Holy Father Mares.

Commemorated January 25 in the Orthodox Christian Menaion

From the Prologue

He was distinguished by external beauty and a sweet singing voice. He retired from the world and lived in a hut for thirty-seven years in fasting and prayer and in cleansing his heart from thoughts. He entered into rest in the Lord as an old man of ninety in the year 430.
